It’s not just because our office is located at Uptown, but we also happen to truly like this amenity rich area. With lots of fantastic Condos in the area it’s also the perfect place to either get into the market or to relocate to if you’re downsizing.
Here are our favourite things about Uptown and the surrounding areas.
1.Uptown Shopping Centre: With Wholefoods, Shoppers Drug Mart, The Library and many, many more it’s truly a one stop shopping destination. With tons of underground parking (come in off of Ravine or Blanshard and park on L3…it’s the best kept parking secret at Uptown) and you’ll easily be able to access both retail levels of Uptown and have access to banks, coffeeshops and so much more.
2. Rutlege Park: This large neighbourhood park has plenty to do from walking trails through the open green space and horticultural displays to tennis courts, a playground and a sportcourt (half basketball and half hockey). Street access is available from Inverness Road, Scotia Street or Glasgow Avenue with parallel parking. An asphalt pathway connects to Cloverdale Avenue. Remember to leash your dog within 10m of the playground.
3.Lot 1 and Bin 4: Both restaurants founded and owned by the same group of people have done a exceptional job creating unique menus with something that appeals to everyone including fresh made pasta, local ingredients and gluten free bun options for your burger. They’re two eateries you’ll be wanting to frequent often.
4.Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary: Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary is a wild oasis in the heart of the urban landscape and includes two distinct ecosystems: the beautiful marshland of Swan Lake and the rocky, oak-forested highlands of Christmas Hill. Both are home to an incredible array of native plants and wild animals. The Sanctuary is a living classroom fostering an understanding and appreciation of nature through direct experiences. Educational programs for all ages encourage responsibility for the care and protection of the natural environment.
